Social and Environmental Impact Assessment

Social & Environmental Impact Assessment

We specialize in Social and Environmental Impact Assessments (SEIA) and Cumulative Impact Assessments for planned projects, particularly in Ghana’s mining sector. By integrating advanced methodologies like geospatial mapping, participatory community engagement, and data-driven analysis, we ensure that development projects align with environmental sustainability and social equity. Our work addresses critical gaps in policy enforcement, amplifies marginalized voices, and fosters transparent decision-making processes.

Our Key Focus Areas

  • Cumulative Impact Mitigation
Beyond individual projects, we analyze the compounded effects of multiple disturbances on ecosystems and livelihoods. In partnership with researchers at Natural Resources Canada, we utilize the RAFCE Framework to assess both direct and indirect impacts of planned projects at the regional level and across time and space.
  • Community-Centered Approaches
Partnering with local stakeholders, we employ participatory techniques to facilitate non-confrontational dialogues between communities, mining companies, and regulators.
